Scientific expertise :

  • Chemistry of wood and wood-based materials such as paper, pulp, or nanocellulose
  • All aspects of cellulose chemistry (modification, degradation, dissolution, characterisation,extraction from plant matrix etc.)
  • Ultrathin polymeric films, their preparation and behaviour upon various treatments (specific expertise in spin coating, Langmuir-Blodgett deposition, polymer blend films, and dewetting)
  • Surface sensitive characterization techniques for organic materials (particularly x-ray reflectivity,reflection absorption IR, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, quartz crystal microbalance withdissipation monitoring, surface plasmon resonance, and atomic force microscopy)
